So most of you know about the bloody drama that has been the rebuild of my Sporty. Well just when it looks like there was light at the end of the tunnel, a rockfall occured today. I get a phone call from the spares guy along the lines of how some parts are here and can you pick 'em up and pay for them. What!, could this be the elusive and long awaited oil pump from the US of goddamn A that I ordered back in November? Ah... that would be a no. It is some rims I ordered about the same time that aparently have been there even though I have poked my head in a few times since. And some bearing dust caps that I need for the headstem assembly, but the bearings ( not ordered as they are generic and available from the bearing shop) are there too and the swingarm bearings, also not ordered. What about the oil pump? I ask, still hopeful that it isn't too far away. "Oh yeah, about that. Did you just want the parts, or the whole assembly?" Uhh, the whole shebang, like I ordered.... "Let me get back to you on that." You have to be kidding me..... On a brighter note, the clutch plates have arrived. Just not the diaphram spring that makes the whole thing work. Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bruce, don't sell that Yammy! |
