Danny Willett was left encouraged by a strong start to the week on home soil as he made an early move at the BMW PGA Championship. The Masters champion carded a bogey-free 66 to sit one off the pace at Wentworth, trailing Scott Hend, former champion Y.E Yang and Joost Luiten.Willett, who was in contention at last weeks Irish Open before struggling over the weekend, followed three birdies on the front nine with three more after the turn to become the only player to sign a blemish-free card. This week is Willetts first appearance in England since last months victory at Augusta and the world No 9, whose best finish at Wentworth saw him fifth on his debut in 2010, admits enjoying his home return. Stats-wise, we probably didnt hit loads of fairways but were never in too much trouble, Willett added. Hit some great mid to short irons and rolled a few putts in.Its always nice when you come off bogey-free. It means youve played some real good golf and youve not given any stupid shots away to the golf course. Highlights from day one of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth I played the par-fives particularly average in fairness, after relatively good drives on most of them. It could have been a really good day, but its a good, solid start to the week.Playing alongside Victor Dubuisson and Soomin Lee, Willett made a bright start with a birdie-two at the second.Being followed by large crowd, the Englishman added gains at the sixth and eighth and saw another birdie chance at the ninth lip out to reach the turn in 32. Willett is playing the event for the seventh year running The world No 9 picked up a shot at the 10th and rolled in a 10-footer at the 14th to get to five under, before getting up-and-down to leave a close-range gain at the par-five 17th.Needing another birdie at the last to join the leading group, Willett elected to lay up for par to stay one adrift of the early pacesetters. Last week in Ireland was fantastic, but there was a little bit more support out there being a home boy in England, Willett added. They dont have to be here and they dont have to come out supporting, but they do.The greens are in a little better than I think they were last year and the last couple years, and I think everyone would agree with that. Hopefully if it stays like this, so well get a nice, easy full-flowing week.Weve played pretty solid over the last few years and were up there in contention a few years back with Luke Donald in the last round. This is a place I enjoy. I enjoy the golf course and I enjoy the challenge of it. You just hope for four good days of weather and keep the crowds coming in, and then you never know.Watch the BMW PGA Championship throughout the week live on Sky Sports 4 - your home of golf Also See: Willett shines at Wentworth Lowry four off the pace First round leaderboard Donald off to fast start . "I only want to go through this one more time," Crosby said Friday. The 24-year-old captain hasnt played since the symptoms resurfaced following a loss to Boston on Dec. 5. Doctors allowed him to return to full practice on Tuesday and while Crosby is pleased with the way his body is responding he refuses to put on his return.TORONTO - The last time the Boston Bruins went into Montreal, Milan Lucic came unglued. In the penalty box in the final minutes, Lucic made an obscene gesture toward Canadiens fans that earned him a fine from the NHL.On Thursday night the Bruins return to Bell Centre, the place that doesnt exactly bring out their best. Boston is 3-5 in its past eight games there, including last years playoff series loss to the Canadiens.I think you could say sometimes we get caught up in all that stuff that goes on around the game, defenceman Dennis Seidenberg said. We let them get under our skin and we dont play our game. I think if we stick to our game plan and play for 60 minutes, we should be fine. But in the past we havent really been able to do that, there have been breakdowns on the ice and mental setbacks and thats been costing us.Lucic, who apologized to his own organization, the Habs and their fans after getting fined US$5,000, said he and his teammates did a better job of controlling their emotions for much of that Oct. 16 game. He blamed a bad five-minute stretch of the second period for the 6-4 loss.It was a big reason why we didnt get that win, Lucic said. I think we have to just not worry about the things that dont matter, just focus on just playing our game and doing what it takes to win. If we do that, thatll give us the best chance to win in that building.Coach Claude Julien was reluctant Wednesday morning at Air Canada Centre to even address the potential emotion of Thursday nights game. His Bruins still had a game to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs, which they lost in a 6-1 rout.dddddddddddd.Suddenly Julien wanted to turn the page.Right now its a matter of moving on here and start getting ready for tomorrow because theres nothing great to talk about today, he said without revealing whether Tuukka Rask or backup Niklas Svedberg would get the start. Im not even thinking about that right now.Recent history between the Habs and Bruins meant it would be human nature to think ahead. Seidenberg just doesnt want to look back at what has happened in La Belle Province of late.We all know the history, we dont need to talk about it too much, the veteran said. We try to look forward. Lets just stick to our game plan.Lucic, no stranger to the role of the villain in opposing arenas, expects some kind of reaction from the fans. Hes not trying to focus on it or take too much pressure on his shoulders.Enough of that already exists for the Bruins.Obviously its been a tough building for us to play in, Lucic said. Its not about me against Montreal or anything like that, its about playing the right way and trying to keep moving our way up the standings.Losing to the Leafs didnt help that effort. The only silver lining for Boston was a chance to play again quickly.Thats what you want when you play a bad hockey game, centre Chris Kelly said. You want to get right back at it, so its good that we play tomorrow night. We get an opportunity to go out and redeem ourselves.___Follow @SWhyno on Twitter ' ' '
