It uses minor RNG alongside some gathering that is rather slow as you build a variety of things and uncover a lot of environments and interesting story. You should frankly only play an ironman (or simply not use MTX tbh) - I have maxed my account and have over thousand hours into RuneScape yet maybe only spent 30 bucks max into the MTX system and it's not even because it forced me to, I was just lazy and also there was a promotion that I wished to see if I might have profited off of. The MTX at RS3 is really not as predatory as folks make it sound, it's definitely too exaggerated, I am not defending and that I myself would love when they eliminated it entirely or at least changed the core to possibly be more prone towards cosmetics but that said, it's definitely something you can live beside in the event that you wish to dismiss it. Maybe not at all, it's closer to amassing RuneScape abilities, but they made it fun and engaging, instead of the old"click this tree while up, lender, repeat for the next 15 levels", although also not which makes it remain intensive and semi-afkable. The basic work begins like this - you click and wait to excavate a busted artifact, but you then go to restore it, often requiring substances from several dig websites over the world as well as the material you receive from the excavation itself. And since you would like to make collections of those artifacts to have rewards, you can not stay at one excavation place either.
