8. Remember the Titans (2000)Sure this plot has been done to death. The one where the team comes together despite seemingly insurmountable odds to not only win the championship, but to become better people in the process. It might be a little overdone and corny, but Remember the Titans is still worth the watch. 7. The Express (2008)The Express is likely one of the more underrated or unfamiliar flicks on this list. Its about real life college star Ernie Davis, who became the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy in 1961. If anything, this movie is good for a history lesson for all those sports nuts out there. 6. Brians Song (1971)Brians Song is probably the most emotional movie on the list. Its based on the real-life relationship between Brian Piccolo (James Cain) and Gale Sayers (Billy Dee Williams), who were running backs for the Chicago Bears in the 1960s. If there was ever a chick-flick/sports movie genre, this one would definitely top that list. 5. The Blind Side (2009)The Blind Side is the most successful football movie in terms of Academy Awards with Sandra Bullock taking the Oscar for best performance by an actress in a leading role. Plus, whenever you see offensive tackle Michael Oher in an NFL game on TV, you can say "hey, thats that guy from that movie." 4. Friday Night Lights (2004)Based on the book by H.G. Bissinger, Friday Night Lights takes a look at the surreal culture of high school football in the United States and the pressure these young men deal with from coaches, family and the small towns they play in. It was even good enough for a TV series. 3. The Longest Yard (1974)Younger generations might think of Adam Sandler and Chris Rock when The Longest Yard is mentioned, but it was the original with Burt Reynolds in 1974 that made this one a cult classic. Everybody loves a story of revenge and thats exactly what The Longest Yard is about. Plus, its always funny when someone gets smoked in the nether regions not once, but twice. Check out the clip below to see what we mean. 2. Any Given Sunday (1999)The star-studded cast in Any Given Sunday, led by Al Pacino (who plays fictional coach Tony DAmato), takes a look at the struggles behind modern day football, both on the field and off it. Its one of the more gritty and "real" football movies, revealing the unglamorous side of pro sports. And thanks to Pacino, Any Given Sunday has one of the best pre-game speeches in sports movie history. 1. Rudy (1993)Who doesnt love the story of Rudy? The inspirational true tale of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, who overcame major obstacles – mostly size – to accomplish his dream of playing for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, has been referenced anytime a player defies the odds to make it big. Sure he only played one down, but it was his "never give up" attitude that made this film worth watching. So what do you think of the list? Is there something we missed? Tell us what you think in the comment section below. Let the debate begin! . -- So much for concern that running back Marshawn Lynch would be absent from the Seattle Seahawks minicamp. . The Spanish champions decision not to sign a defender during the January transfer window may have backfired after Valencia took advantage of a lethargic, uninspired effort by its hosts at the Camp Nou, where former Spain coach Luis Aragones -- who previously coached the Catalan side -- was honoured after his death on Saturday. https://www.49ersrookiestore.com/49ers- ... er-Jersey/. The South Africa international, who rejoined the club last month on loan from Tottenham, opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a powerful shot into the roof of the net. .ca Fantasy Editor Scott Cullen, NFL Editor Ben Fisher, and Isaac Owusu discuss three hot fantasy football topics. .com) - SirDominic Pointer posted career highs of 24 points and seven steals to lead No.Charlie Nicholas has reassessed his pre-season predictions after the opening weeks of the 2016/17 Premier League season. With seven games played, Pep Guardiolas Manchester City sit top of the table, having won six of their matches so far, while Tottenham are the leagues only remaining unbeaten side.Having missed out on a place in Charlies original top four, have Spurs done enough to make the grade this time around? Read on to find out... Watch NOW TV Watch Sky Sports for just £6.99. No contract. Charlies original top-four v latest top-four prediction Charlies original prediction Charlies latest prediction 1. Man City 1. Man City 2. Arsenal 2. Arsenal 3. Man Utd 3. Liverpool 4.Liverpool 4. Tottenham My original top four was Man City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, but I would change that having watched the first few games of the season.Man City still look really strong, despite the slip-up against Spurs, although I do think Pep may have concerns about some of his players now.Aleksandar Kolarov is not a centre-half and he may even have worries about him playing at left-back too. He is great on the ball, but looks weak defensively. Gael Clichy is the same, and I dont know his preference between Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta.John Stones has been on the bench a few times too so it seems to be a confusing picture at the back. Still, despite all that, theyre top of the Premier League! Watch Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal against Tottenham Arsenal stay second because they have looked good in recent weeks, securing a massive win at home to Chelsea and following that with a narrow victory over Burnley.Sometimes when youre not playing well, you just need to grind out a result and thats what Arsenal did at Turf Moor. You could see the smiles on the Arsenal players faces at the end because you knew they thought it was a big three pooints.dddddddddddd Watch Laurent Koscielny’s controversial winner against Burnley Ive changed my mind on Spurs, who do look like a top-four side. Reassessing the situation now, I would probably go Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs in fourth.Mauricio Pochettinos side have crashed the idea Man City were marching to the title. Every system is vulnerable and Tottenham showed you can still play on the front foot against Guardiolas team.As for Liverpool, we all enjoyed Jurgen Klopp on Monday Night Football, but his team is prone to mood swings defensively. For me, they are not strong enough to win the title, but Im tipping them to make the top four with no European football. After that, I am dropping Man United to fifth having originally put them third. Jose Mourinho is stuck because he has spent a fortune on big-money buys, and the big-money buys, especially Paul Pogba, are still trying to adapt. Watch Paul Pogba’s missed chances against Stoke Pogba does not understand - at least he doesnt appear to - that he can play his part in a disciplined team. Its all about him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic linking up at the moment, and his constant shots from 30 yards. If he was an academy youngster coming into the team, people would be screaming and moaning at him but because hes new and £89m, you let him off. He is allowed to just do what he wants. It will click eventually, and it might click soon, but Ive got a feeling it will take a bit of time.Chelsea and Leicester City have been poor in comparison to the other clubs and I think a top-half finish will represent a good season for Claudio Ranieris side.I expect Chelsea to get stronger but they have issues there and have badly missed John Terry in recent games. I would peg them about seventh, fighting with teams like Southampton. You can watch Englands tour of Bangladesh, plus Premier League football and the Japan Grand Prix on Sky Sports.
