Sebastian Vettel topped the times on the opening day of the in-season test at the Circuit de Cataluyna as Ferrari went in search of qualifying pace. The Scuderia were bemused to find themselves relegated to the third row of the grid for the Spanish GP, behind both Mercedes cars and both Red Bulls, and used the test as an attempt to learn lessons from Saturday. The German worked on a programme which concentrated on qualifying simulation. After the difficulties encountered at this track last Saturday, the Scuderia chose to look at that particular area of performance, said Ferrari. Lapping at a similar time of day and on soft tyres as was the case on Saturday, Vettel found just over one tenth of improvement from his time in qualifying, posting a 1:23.220. However, that time would not have been enough to improve on his grid position. It is a unique chance to test straight after the grand prix at the same track in more or less the same conditions. It is not a big secret that Saturday we struggled a bit so we tried some stuff, we need to have a good look but it is not the only thing we are here for today, Vettel told Sky Sports. Sky Italys Antonio Boselli recaps the first day of in-season testing from Barcelona, which saw Sebastian Vettel top the timing sheets. Nico Rosberg, returning to the cockpit for the first time since his first-lap clash with Lewis Hamilton, was second quickest for Mercedes and completed 119 laps - the most of any team.Vettel and Renaults Esteban Ocon were the only other drivers to complete a century of laps. The Frenchman will switch from yellow to silver on day two as he takes over from Rosberg in the Mercedes W07.Williams caught the eye as they ran modified front and rear wings to replicate the levels of downforce expected in 2017 as part of a morning of data gathering, before switching their focus to Monaco in the afternoon.Development driver and GP2 frontrunner Alex Lynn was at the wheel and completed 86 laps for Williams.I think we had a really positive day. Weve run through everything, and probably more than we ever anticipated on the programme, said Lynn.Weve had a lot of good running for the team in terms of the next few races, and got some good information. McLaren showed good pace during the morning session with Jenson Button leading the way at lunch. He finished the day third quickest, despite the team saying they focussed on Monaco work.Todays power unit run programme consisted mainly of race set-up for the Monaco Grand Prix next weekend, said Hondas Satoshi Nakamura. The street circuit of Monaco has many slow corners which require stability in the engines low-revving range, so we focused on its driveability and the various modes of the power unit to bring out its full potential. Our plan is to continue to run similarly tomorrow. The next driver on the Red Bull junior conveyor belt is Pierre Gasly, and he was at the wheel for Toro Rosso, finishing the day seventh quickest.Unfortunately at the end of the day, when we were just about to go for some performance runs on soft tyres, we had a little issue, so we had to end the day a bit earlier than planned, said the Frenchman. But Im still pleased, as we could anyhow complete many laps today, which is always important for me to gain experience. A late run on the ultrasoft tyres catapulted Alfonso Celis Jr to eighth in the Force India, having spent most of the day at the bottom of the timesheets.Interestingly, reliability was not an issue during the eight hours of running, with the session unaffected by red flags. The test concludes on Wednesday, with the green flag at 8am BST. The kind he has every so often. The kind he has when Dwyane Wade sits. James scored 43 points -- 25 in a bewildering first-quarter shooting display -- and Chris Bosh added 21, leading the Miami Heat to a 100-96 win Tuesday night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who played their first game without injured All-Star guard Kyrie Irving. http://www.cheapknicksjerseysauthentic.com/. A wide-eyed 18-year-old visiting North America for only the second time in his young life, Caboclo immediately noticed the "big tower" his new home is best known for. . So true. It is one thing to create a winning football team, and another to keep it winning. Each and every week it changes. The NFL creates a unique interest of not who is "the best", but much more who is "the best this week". . - Derek Wolfe says hes finally healthy after suffering a seizure in November that doctors now believe was related to the spinal cord injury he suffered in the preseason. TORONTO -- Steve Tolleson is the only Toronto Blue Jay who will want to remember Wednesdays game. With his team trailing the Cleveland Indians by 13 runs in the ninth inning, the Blue Jays utility infielder came off the bench to make his big league pitching debut and secure the final out. "I wish the circumstances hadnt even been that way to get that chance but I guess any time you have a chance to go out and try to get an out in a major-league game thats a pretty special opportunity for anyone," said the 30-year-old Tolleson after the Indians pounded the Blue Jays 15-4 at Rogers Centre. "I didnt take it for granted," said Tolleson, who joked that he tried to stay "below the hitting speed" against the two hitters he faced. He yielded a double to Lonnie Chisenhall and got Mike Aviles to pop up. Tolleson, who said he pitched a couple of times late in blowout games in the minors in 2011 and 2012, said manager John Gibbons came up to him before the Cleveland ninth to see if he was willing to go in to pitch if needed. He relieved Neil Wagner, recalled earlier in the day from triple-A Buffalo, who had given up six runs on six hits in 1 1/3 innings. "He was battling out there and if I could save him a few pitches to help him get ready for his next appearance then thats what the team needed today," Tolleson said. Toronto shortstop Jose Reyes flipped the ball into the stands after the Aviles pop up but Tolleson said it was retrieved for him to keep as a souvenir. David Murphy was 5 for 6 with five runs batted in and Chisenhall was 5 for 6 with an RBI as Cleveland (19-21) had 22 hits off for five different Toronto pitchers before 14,068 fans. The Indians led 4-2 after six innings before pounding the Toronto bullpen to turn it into a laaugher.dddddddddddd "We were in that game going into the seventh inning," Gibbons said. "Then, of course, it exploded on us. Get that one out of our system and come back tomorrow." Toronto (20-21) closes out a nine-game home stand against the Indians on Thursday night. Dustin McGowans struggles at home continued. The Toronto right-handed starter was touched for four runs in four-plus innings, including a two-run home run by Carlos Santana. McGowan (2-2), making his eighth start of the season, gave up a run in each of the second and fourth innings before being chased by three straight hits including Santanas two-run blast in the fifth. McGowan is now 0-2 with 16 earned runs in 15 2/3 innings and 9.10 earned-run-average over four starts at the Rogers Centre this season. On the road, hes 2-0 with six earned runs in 23 1/3 innings and a sparkling 2.31 ERA in four starts. "It was just one of those nights where they were waffling the ball," McGowan said. "Sometimes you have to tip your hat to them. "All my pitches were fine tonight. I just got hit hard." Former Blue Jay Yan Gomes had a three-run homer in the ninth off Wagner to cap the onslaught. Meanwhile, Cleveland starter Corey Kluber (4-3) had a solid outing. The right-hander retired the first 13 Blue Jays he faced and finished the night yielding two runs, four hits and a walk while striking out nine over seven innings. Adam Lind had two of the Blue Jays eight hits while Jose Bautista, Brett Lawrie, Juan Francisco and Josh Thole each drove in a run. After Thursdays game, the Blue Jays go out on the road for three weekend games in Texas before heading to Fenway Park for a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox beginning on Tuesday. ' ' '
