Coventry Blaze have signed Liam Stewart, son of music legend Rod, for the start of next season. The 21-year-old was born in London and moved with his mother Rachel Hunter to America at the age of three where he fell in love with the sport.He joined the LA Junior Kings youth programme before moving to the Western Hockey Leagues top junior team Spokane Chiefs. Stewart was named Rookie of the Year in his first season and over four terms, scored 57 goals and 75 assists in 251 games.He played in two play-off games for Quad City Mallards before joining Alaska Aces but his season was cut short by injury. Liams famous football-mad father Rod Stewart is also a fan of ice hockey Im fully recovered now and I am itching to get back on the ice to start the season, said Stewart, who will count as a foreign import due to his overseas development.
